Oliver Jackson

Background: Graduated from Heriot-Watt University with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Statistics.

Research interests: I am motivated by the application of theoretical mathematics to real world systems. In particular, my research interests include geophysical and astrophysical fluid dynamics.

Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: I chose the CDT in fluid dynamics because of the interdisciplinary nature of the field, the training available, and the wide range of potential PhD topics. Coming from a mathematical background, I want to learn different ways of thinking and problem framing. This programme will provide me with a solid foundation for a future career in academia.
