Background: I graduated from the University of Exeter with an integrated Masters in Physics. I particularly enjoyed the maths, leading me to specialise in theoretical modules. As well as this, I undertook a summer internship in exoplanet climate modelling and a Master’s project in optics looking at the multiple scattering of gravitational waves.
Research Interests: I’m particularly interested in mathematical/computational research areas relevant to industry. These include wind energy, weather and climate and aerodynamics.
Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: The CDT provided me with an excellent way to apply my physics background to an area of research that is both mathematical and relevant to industry. The cohort approach also seemed like a great way to meet other like-minded students and be well supported. Finally, the CDT allowed me to have some time to choose my favourite areas of research before choosing a project.
