Background: BEng in Aeronautical Engineering (Design), MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Specialty in Tribology), Lead Engineer of Numerical simulations (CFD) for home appliances.
Research Interests: I am interested in the behaviour of engineering systems involving in combination of fluid and structural dynamics. My research focuses on how fluid flows affect the integrity and performances of engineering structures as well as the energy efficiency to run those systems. Practical applications of this research can be used in improving the efficiency of energy systems, optimisation such as in aerospace components, and designing more resilient and robust engineering systems sustainably. I aim to apply advanced computational analysis to complex fluid-thermal-structural phenomena, Thermal analysis, conjugate heat transfer between walls of fluids and solids, Fluid-structure interaction (FSI), Influence of micro-features in engineering structures (such as surface roughness) to aerodynamic or hydrodynamic performances, Modelling of internal and external flows, etc.
Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: The significant economic and qualitative impact of fluids on enhancing the performance of machinery and appliances, along with environmental concerns about sustainability, motivate me to work in the field of fluid dynamics .I learned this during Aerodynamics courses, and then I performed numerical investigations of a combustion chamber of Aero-engines for my graduation thesis. The beauty of the equations which describe fluid flow attracts me so much. After that, I have been working on several engineering projects with fluids. Having a lot of work experience with CFD simulations for different engineering applications, I feel I need to have much deeper knowledge about fluid dynamics and other topics related to it such as Fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and heat transfer in fluids. Deeper understanding of the physics has become very necessary for me as I am dealing with very complex problems in the industries for sustainability and efficient energy consumptions. Performing design analysis with the help of numerical simulations (i.e. CFD) is very inevitable to build sustainable products, to reduce production costs, and to optimize energy consumptions. Although I have been performing numerical simulations for few years, I want to build my skills in different level with more education in this field. Researching about fluids in engineering systems numerically and experimentally to solve pressing problems for efficiency and sustainability of those systems is the key aspect for me to choose this programme.
