Background: I graduated in 2025 with an Integrated Masters in Physics from the University of Leeds. In my final dissertation project I designed and built an experimental investigation into Rovelli’s Thermal Time Hypothesis. This is looking at the problem of the fundamental nature of time, an inconsistency between General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
Research Interests: My 3rd year lab experiences taught me what feels like everything that can go wrong in labs but in my final year I worked independently to design my own investigations and experimental tests to solve complex theoretical problems. This is something I hope to continue and apply to Astrophysical sciences and geophysical flows.
Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: Within physics I had the chance to study some modules from other departments including vector calculus in maths and Atmospheric physics in Earth and Environment. These and my part time work at MathsCity introduced me to Fluid Dynamics and I was attracted by the real world relevance and applications that have otherwise often seemed very abstract for my research interests. Combined with the experimental side of physics I’ve always enjoyed, this seemed like the perfect fit.
