Background
I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2015 with an MMath degree in Mathematics. Throughout my degree the majority of my chosen modules were in applied maths, in particular fluid dynamics and quantum mechanics. My final year project focussed on analytically evaluating the potential power of a tidal barrage being placed within the Severn Estuary.
Research Interests
Although I am keeping an open mind about which specific area I would like to research further, I have a keen interest in environmental flows. At the moment I am looking forward to improving my computational and experimental skills over the course of my first year.
Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics
The opportunity to gain exposure to other areas of fluid dynamics that I have not previously studied at undergraduate, before choosing a specific area for research, was a major factor in choosing the CDT. This along with being in a cohort environment and having the opportunity to develop my computational and experimental techniques in year one meant the CDT in Fluid Dynamics was the perfect course for me.
