Hannah Franklin

Background: I graduated with an Integrated Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Oxford in 2025. I took multiple courses in fluid dynamics during my undergraduate, and my dissertation was focussed on numerical simulations using finite difference schemes.  

Research Interests: I am interested in using computational numerical methods to approach problems in fluid dynamics, with a particular interest in climate modelling. However, I’m keen to explore other applications during time in the CDT programme.  

 Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: I wanted to explore fluid dynamics through other disciplines and experience a slightly more practical approach than my theoretical background, so the interdisciplinary nature of the CDT appealed to me. The support provided by the CDT in both professional and academic development throughout the 4 years was also significant in my choice to apply.
