Background:

Before coming into the CDT I worked in a public sector consultancy firm specialising in counter fraud, internal audit, and information governance. I worked as fraud investigator for five years before making the switch to data science, enabled by my employer sponsoring by BSc in data science. I worked for the next five years on modelling for fraud and error detection, with a particular focus on non-deterministic record linkage models.

Research Interests:

I am primarily interested in physics informed machine learning and data-driven fluids. I am also interested in the development of more traditional numerical approaches to fluid flow problems, and how these can be enhanced by machine learning techniques.

Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics:

The centre’s increasing focus on data driven fluids, combined with the grounding in fluids given in the first semester, was the perfect combination for me. I wouldn’t have been able to make the jump over to physics-informed work, particularly in fluids, without the first semester taught modules.
