Week 1: Basic principles of fluid dynamics
- How fluids behave, including laminar and turbulent flow
- Predicting fluid behaviour with the Bernoulli equation, and computational modelling techniques.
Week 2: Fluid dynamics in people’s lives and environment
- Impact of fluid dynamics on breath movement and the effectiveness of mitigation measures such as masks and ventilation systems.
- Role of fluid dynamics in understanding and predicting weather patterns, including the formation and behaviour of hurricanes and tropical storms.
- Degrees incorporating elements of fluid dynamics, opportunities for further study and research, and potential career paths leveraging this knowledge.
