EPSRC CDT Future Fluid Dynamics Symposium 2026
- Date
- Friday 12 June 2026, 10:00 to 16:00
- Location
- Nexus - University of Leeds
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Fluid Dynamics is pleased to announce the Leeds Fluid Dynamics Symposium 2026, which will take place on Friday 12th June 2026.
This annual event aims to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange within the fluid dynamics community, across both academia and industry. It also provides an opportunity to explore a wide range of topics within fluid dynamics. There is also a poster competition with prizes. Everybody is welcome to participate in the poster competition.
Keynote Speakers
- Prof Simon Vosper, Director of Research and Development, Met Office.
Talk title: Fluid dynamics and Numerical Weather Prediction: successes, challenges and opportunities - Dr Phil Trinh, Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Bath.
Talk title: The role of fluid dynamics and asymptotics in a changing climate: on hydrology, industry, and current fashions - Dr Allen Haddrell, Research Fellow, School of Chemistry, University of Bristol.
Talk title: Optimizing Indoor Air: Maximizing Microbe Decay to Limit Disease Transmission - Prof Silke Weinfurtner, Chair in Applied Quantum Technologies, University of Manchester.
