Background: I completed an integrated Master’s in mathematics at the University of Leeds. I mainly studied modules in applied mathematics with a focus on fluid dynamics. My dissertation focused on how we can derive fundamental equations in fluid dynamics using methods from calculus of variations.
Research Interests: As well as a continued interest in the fluid dynamical applications of calculus of variations, I am mainly interested in the study of highly viscous, non-Newtonian flows, specifically the flow of polymer melt flows through filters.
Why I chose the CDT in Fluid Dynamics: The CDT will allow me to develop or more well-rounded, multi-disciplinary understanding of fluid dynamics as part of cohort, and I am impressed with the opportunities the CDT offers to work on my professional skills. I am also looking forward to working with my industry partner, Dupont Teijin Films.
