The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Fluid Dynamics is pleased to announce the Leeds Fluid Dynamics Symposium 2025 will take place on Thursday 12 June 2025. This annual event aims to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange within the fluid dynamics community, spanning both academic and industrial sectors. The symposium is scheduled to take place from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The day's programme includes a series of keynote addresses featuring the following speakers:
- Dr Laura Currie, Durham University ‘What Lies Beneath: The Fluid Dynamics of Stellar and Planetary Interiors’
- Dr Tom Eaves, University of Dundee ‘Structures in oscillating boundary layer flows’
- Dr Duncan Hewitt, University of Cambridge ‘Continuum Modelling of Particulate Suspensions: Clogging, Jamming and Mobilisation’
- Dr Elena Marensi, University of Sheffield ‘Transition to and from turbulence in a vertical heated pipe’
- Dr Ashleigh Hutchinson —University of Manchester ‘Saffman-Taylor instabilities in shear-thinning fluids’
- Dr Linfeng Li — Imperial College London ‘Neural Network Implementation of Finite Element Models for Fluid-Structure Interaction’
